The fascination of spring skiing in the Austrian Alps
The sun is shining in the sky and the snow under your skis crunches with every turn. It's spring and the mountains around Innsbruck still offer perfect conditions for skiers.
The magic of the Axamer Lizum
The Axamer Lizum, just 19 km from Innsbruck, is a true paradise for skiers. With over 40 kilometers of slopes reaching up to over 2340 m, this ski area offers an impressive backdrop, especially against the backdrop of the impressive Kalkkögeln. The new gondola lift takes visitors from the valley to the highest point of the ski area in just 6 minutes, from where they can enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-covered landscape.
An experience for all senses
The feeling of whizzing down the slopes as the snow kicks up with every turn is incomparable. The Axamer Lizum also offers a variety of options for freeriders and ski tourers. A special highlight is the snow park, which is equipped with various obstacles for jumping and sliding.
The Olympic downhill run: A must for every skier
The Olympic run in the Axamer Lizum is the longest run in the ski area at 3.3 km long. It leads directly beneath impressive rock faces and offers a unique skiing experience. It's worth a short stop at the jackdaw's nest to fortify yourself with hot chocolate and tea before continuing.
Muttereralm: Another highlight
After an eventful day in the Axamer Lizum, we continue to the Muttereralm. From here you have a breathtaking view of the Kalkkögel and can look down to Innsbruck. The descent from the Muttereralm is the longest of the day at 5 km and offers an unforgettable experience in which you overcome over 800 meters in altitude.
End the day in Innsbruck
After a day of adrenaline and fun on the slopes, it's time to head back to the city. Innsbruck offers numerous sights and a lively culture. A visit to the rooftop bar "360 Grad" offers a breathtaking view over the city and the surrounding mountains and is the perfect end to an unforgettable day in the Alps.
