Mountain bike trails in Bavaria
What are single trails?
Singletrails are routes that are only 30 to 60cm wide and therefore, true to the name, only provide space for one bike. So you can't drive next to each other. Some of them are hiking trails that can also be ridden on mountain bikes. You should pay attention to the different levels of difficulty (S0 – S5).
Explanation of the difficulty levels:
- S0: The ground consists of very firm gravel or non-slip forest or meadow floor. Otherwise, an S0 Trail does not place any important demands on your driving performance.
- S1: You come across the first obstacles such as roots and slight ruts. You should know how best to shift weight and effectively dose braking force. Then you can glide relaxed over an S1 single trail.
- S2: On this type of route, roots and stones build up. Stairs and steps can also apply. This means that an S2 Trail, compared to S0 or S1 variants, places even greater demands on the control of the bike and your body.
- S3: On loose ground, S3 trails also take you through switchbacks as the roots get bigger and the steps get higher and higher. You may even come across boulders on your way. On these routes you always have to brake precisely, maintain your balance and be able to actively move the rear wheel.
- S4: The intense gradient presents quite a challenge on S4 singletrack. Possibly. You even have to carry the mountain bike for a bit in order to pass the particularly deep steps and the narrow hairpin bends. Therefore, the basic requirements for S4 Trails are rear wheel and front wheel offset.
- S5: On this type of route the earth slips and the rubble comes loose. Trees may even have fallen across your route. In addition, the S5 Trail is extremely steep, forcing you to descend again and again and is therefore only suitable for absolute mountain bike professionals.
What is a Natural Trail?
Most trails, e.g.b in Bavaria's bike parks, are specially designed and tailored to bikers. The natural trails are created without human influence. This means driving along forest, field or meadow paths, jumping over small ramps and roots or sliding through the natural steep curves.
What is a flow trail?
Flow trails make it possible to bike in the river. They are tailor-made for mountain bikes and designed so that they can be ridden with a constant flow thanks to the raised corner edges and the rhythmically designed waves. Sometimes even at a serious speed. The flow trails also have the characteristic steep curves.
What is a downhill trail?
The name already explains the basic idea. The downhill trails are routes that always lead downhill, where you drive over a closed route, roll through steep curves, jump over tables and possibly. Wooden elements happened. They also leave natural obstacles behind and can therefore reach speeds of up to 70 km/h.
