The magic of mountain hiking: discovery of Kindlwand, Heuberg and Wasserwand
The mountains are calling! There is nothing more uplifting than standing on a mountaintop and looking at the world from above. The fresh mountain air, the feeling of freedom and the breathtaking views are just some of the reasons why many people love mountain hiking.
Starting point of the adventure trip
Our journey begins at the hiking car park, which is about an hour away from Munich. From here there are two paths to Kindlwand: a family-friendly path and a more scenic but longer path. The Kindlwand, a 1228 meter high peak in the Chiemgau Alps, not only offers a challenge for hikers, but also breathtaking views.
The challenge of the child wall
Before you reach the summit of the Kindlwand, you have to overcome a short climbing section. Surefootedness and climbing experience are an advantage here. The stones can be slippery, especially when wet, so caution is advised. Despite the effort, you will be rewarded at the summit with an impressive view of the water wall.
Heuberg: A mountain with history
After the Kindlwand we continue to Heuberg, a 1338 meter high peak. This mountain gets its name from the farmers who used to use it to harvest hay. Shortly before the summit, hikers face a small climbing section, but the effort is worth it. From the summit you have a fantastic view of the Kindlwand and the surrounding landscape.
Water wall: The highlight of the tour
The last summit of the hike is the water wall, which at 1367 meters is the highest point on the tour. The path there is secured with steel cables, and although sure-footed hikers should have no problems, it is advisable to take safety equipment such as a via ferrata kit and a helmet. The narrow ridge to the summit cross requires surefootedness and a head for heights, but the view from the top is simply incomparable.
End of the hike
After returning from the summit of the water wall, you have the opportunity to relax at a nearby stop and explore the surrounding area further. A refreshing break and a delicious snack are the perfect end to this mountain adventure.
Mountain hiking in the Chiemgau Alps is an unforgettable experience. The combination of physical exertion, the connection to nature and the breathtaking views makes every hike a special experience. It is a memory that will last a lifetime.
