Discovering the Black Forest: A hike on the Albsteig

The mountains are calling! And for everyone who loves the sound of the forest, the splashing of waterfalls and untouched nature, the Black Forest is a true paradise. One of the most impressive routes in this region is the Albsteig.

Start of the journey: The chapel of Immeneich

The journey begins near a rustic chapel that stands in the silence of the forest. This place exudes calm and prepares hikers for what lies ahead.

The first climb and fluffy highland cattle

After a brief moment of calm, the first steep climb follows. But the effort is worth it, because fluffy highland cattle are waiting at the end of this path. These majestic animals, with their thick fur and large horns, are a sight you won't soon forget. But they don't seem to be impressed by the hikers and continue to graze quietly.

Breathtaking views: The Dachsberg and the Bildstein

The path continues to Dachsberg. On a clear day, this place offers a view that extends to the Alps. Another highlight of the trip is the viewpoint from Bildstein. From here you have a brilliant view over the entire Black Forest. The green treetops stretching to the horizon are a sight that will make any nature lover's heart beat faster.

The Albsteig: A path full of surprises

The Albsteig is not only known for its viewpoints. The terrain is humid, which makes the nature particularly lush and green. At one point along the path you can even admire a slice of a 266-year-old fir tree. The Albsteig lives up to its name, especially when you walk along the narrow smugglers' path, which is accompanied by birdsong.

The Alpsteinsee: A jewel in the forest

After all the ascents and descents, the Alpsteinsee comes into view. Surrounded by trees and with a 28 meter high wall, this lake is a place of peace. The path leads around the lake and offers countless resting places from which you can enjoy the view of the clear water.
