The magic of the Zillertal: A trip to the “Little Tibet”
The Zillertal, a picturesque valley in the Alps, offers not only breathtaking mountain landscapes, but also hidden gems waiting to be discovered. One of these jewels is the so-called "Little Tibet".
The journey begins
Traveling to the Zillertal is easy and comfortable thanks to the Zillertalbahn, which runs regularly through the valley. After a short drive you reach the picturesque town of Kaltenbach and from there you can admire the surrounding mountains.
The path to "Little Tibet"
The hike begins at the Bärenbadalm and leads along a turquoise-blue reservoir. The path is characterized by a wide forest road that is ideal for families. During the hike you can admire the rugged mountain peaks that rise majestically into the sky. Some of these peaks reach heights of over 3,000 meters and are crowned by impressive glaciers.
The discovery of "Little Tibet"
A surprise awaits hikers at the end of the reservoir: the “Little Tibet”. This place was named after the owner's trip to Tibet as it reminded him of the landscape there. Colorful prayer flags blow in the wind and give the place a special atmosphere. Here you can take a break and enjoy homemade specialties that come directly from the in-house farm.
A breathtaking view
For those looking for an additional adventure, a detour to St. Valentine's Chapel is a good idea. This place offers a breathtaking view of the entire reservoir and the surrounding mountains. It is the perfect place to fully enjoy the beauty of nature.
A culinary experience
Back in the valley, the restaurant “Guat Z Essen” offers a unique culinary experience. Almost all ingredients come from the in-house permaculture garden, and the menu changes every ten days, depending on which ingredients are in season.
The Zillertal is undoubtedly a place full of wonder and beauty. A visit to "Little Tibet" is just one of many adventures that await visitors in this breathtaking region.
